Rival AI agents, Instinct and Meta’s Muse, both add the ability to make calls

Text-based AI assistants are rapidly evolving, with companies like Instinct and Meta’s Muse enhancing their capabilities to include making phone calls. Instinct, valued at around $10 billion, recently introduced Instinct Concierge, a feature allowing the AI to perform high-touch tasks like booking non-online restaurant reservations and managing cancellations. Meta’s Muse also rolled out outbound calling to U.S. businesses, prioritizing users who request the feature. These calling functionalities now place these rivals on equal footing in the AI assistant space. Instinct further supports task management by providing dedicated email addresses and enabling assistants to connect within a trusted network. Both platforms have gained significant traction, with Instinct raising substantial funding and Muse surpassing Meta AI app downloads shortly after launch, reflecting strong investor and user interest in advanced AI agents.
