This AI startup says it can generate permit-ready blueprints in minutes

Blueprints AI, a Santa Monica-based startup founded by architect Al Dram and data scientist Coco Cao, uses AI to generate code-compliant and permit-ready construction blueprints within minutes from a photo, PDF, or sketch. The startup, launching its second-generation software at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, enables architects to spend more time designing by automating 80% of drafting work. The software supports architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and interior design, with real-time, code-compliant updates as changes are made. Blueprints AI targets architecture firms and real estate developers, offering subscription plans and custom pricing. Licensed architects still review and seal documents, ensuring human oversight. The startup plans future versions with structural analysis and electrical panel design features.
