Meta now lets AI agents handle the boring parts of WhatsApp Business setup

Meta has introduced a new WhatsApp Business Tools MCP server allowing developers to use AI coding agents like Claude, Cursor, Codex, or ChatGPT to streamline the setup and management of WhatsApp Business messaging. This integration simplifies the previously cumbersome process by letting users interact with AI agents to create accounts, verify phone numbers, register for Cloud API access, and manage messaging templates. The AI can also test messages, monitor Terms of Service compliance, payment methods, and business verification status. This expansion builds on Meta’s existing MCP servers and aligns with similar offerings from other tech companies like PayPal, Stripe, and Microsoft, facilitating secure AI interactions with their platforms. The innovation aims to reduce manual effort and improve onboarding efficiency for businesses using WhatsApp.
